Wood and Wire by sodacrush Wood and Wire by sodacrush
Two pendants I made as part of a collab with :iconddawgs22:

(You can see the original wood pendants he sent me here: [link]) as well as the kind of wood they are. The two shown here are both maple :)

He makes awesome pendants and rings in all kinds of wood, so do check out his account :D

Love the combination of materials, I haven't seen it done like this.
I especially like the heartshaped swirl, it is original and fresh.

Love what you did with the bottom left. I have one of his wooden gems this shape still to wrap. This gives me inspiration to get started!

you did a really nice job keeping the wrap tight against the gem. That's tough on those S shaped curves.

Agh, thank you!! They're not really as tight as I would like them to be, maybe a 1mm gap or so? But it's as close as I could go to the wire and I already nicked some of the wood ^^;

Don't feel bad. I have one of E's red 'gems' that I crushed the heck out of trying to wrap it. I am so used to wrapping rock that I didn't take into account how soft wood is. Doubt it will ever get posted. Keep em coming. You've been doing great work!

I never did, either ^^; but the maker of these pendants had really lovely pieces and it was easy to see how it would work when wrapped in wire :D
